Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Alternative evaluation

  • All three of my interviewees said that price matters to them. Also, they think the packaging of the product has an influence on them when they make a purchase.
How/where do they buy
  • My interviewees all said they rather buy their stuff online. They prefer to use their credit card because they don't like to carry cash around with them.
Post-purchase evaluation
  • The interviewees all said that they think the product is good when it gets the job done. One of them added that it should get the job done and have additional benefits. Another interviewee said the product is good if she doesn't have to use a lot of effort with the product. They all said that the product is not good when it doesn't solve their needs.
Conclusion
The segment relies on convenience because they want something that will get the job done. Also, they prefer to use card payments and buying their products online so they want to make their purchases quickly without traveling time. Convenience also comes from the post-purchase evaluation. The segment doesn't want to use too much effort when the product is supposed to do the job.

  1. It is evident that you were able to gain a better understanding of your consumer segment, which can be a huge key takeaway into improving your business. I like how you were able to conclude that your segment relies on convenience, based on your interviews. And with this information kept in mind, I think you can contribute this factor into your product and service to satisfy your consumer's needs.

    I really liked how you consolidated what your interviewees said and gained perspective on what they view as a failure or a successful product. As a consumer, I also agree with your interviewees as I find myself wanting convenience and being upset when I spend money on a product that does not work the way that it was supposed to or how I had envisioned it.

  3. It is clear that your segment has clear principles that they follow when they are looking for and at when thinking about when product purchasing. Their views and values are clearly recorded by your thorough investigation and report. With the information you have gained, it is will be easy t identify what consumer needs you will have to satisfy.
